Furnace Tender

Furnace Tender Location: Le Sueur, MN Starting Pay : $23-$26/hr
1st Shift Monday - Thursday (5:00 am - 3:20 pm) Position Summary: Performs a variety of tasks such as alloying metals to specification, re-melting scrap; transferring and pouring molten metal into molds, bull ladles, or trucks; regulating furnace/metal temperature; stirring furnace, skimming off dross and cold flux; maintaining and cleaning furnace, making repairs; delivering ingots and molten metal to casting machines; or monitoring, identifying and labeling ingot inventory. Inspects for quality, defects, and deviations from specifications.
Responsible for quality of work and appropriately resolving unusual operating conditions. Routinely operates a forklift. Generally works at an assigned workstation. Willingly modifies work schedule and duties to accommodate Company needs. All other duties as assigned. May require the successful completion of specific education, training, or certifications. Minimum Education: Reading and understanding English language work instructions
Preferred Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum Skills/Experience: Six months of forklift experience, effective computer use, basic Math skills, independent decision-making, and effective self-management.
Preferred Skills/Experience: One year of forklift experience in a manufacturing environment
