Job DescriptionLeffler Consulting is seeking a Financial Analyst (Intermediate Level) to join our team in Springfield, VA. An active TS/SCI clearance is required for this position.
DutiesPrepare both internal and external position papers in accordance with federal requirements and accounting standards to reflect the accounting activities and operations of the program.Determine if financial transactions and associated financial processes are consistent with United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and applicable laws and regulations. Additionally, determine if transactions are processed in compliance with the United States Standard General Ledger definitions (USSGL).Analyze and interpret financial data to detect trends and identify necessary corrective action and processes to improve accuracy and utility of the General Ledger (GL) and subsidiary accounts.Analyze trends/anomalies in accounting system transactions to determine effect on the General Ledger and subsidiary accounts.Develop an internal control framework that mitigates risk and is operationally effective.Analyze and assess current and historical financial data for the purpose of developing special reports for use in improving the efficiency, accuracy, and usefulness of financial reporting.Develop audit methodologies to support the existence, completeness, and valuation of the organization's fixed asset portfolio.Required EducationBachelor's degree in accounting or business-related fieldRequired ExperienceAt least six (6) years of accounting or financial management experienceAt least four (4) years of experience performing one or more of the following-Federal Financial Reporting-General Ledger Analysis-Audit Liaison-Audit Remediation-Financial Process Improvement through Automation-Documenting and Testing Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting or Improper Payments in accordance with FMFIA, PIIA, and OMB Circular A-123Desired EducationDesired Experience: DoD or Intelligence Community financial management experienceFederal or Commercial financial statement audit experienceCPA, CIA, CFE, CGFM, or CDFM CertificationFounded in 2001, Leffler Consulting is a women-owned small business (WOSB) headquartered in Chantilly, Virginia.
