Performs data discovery, financial analysis and reporting to support organization's Payer Contracting and Revenue Cycle processes and ensure proper payment to organization.
Responsibilities Perform payment analytics including complex modeling, reports, and presentations to support payer contract negotiation and translate industry reimbursement trends into quantifiable impacts. Collaborate interdepartmentally to develop actionable reports to analyze and streamline payment processes. Utilize technical platforms, such as SQL Server and Tableau, to translate business problems into data visualizations, reports and presentations which yield actionable recommendations. Conduct analysis on various healthcare initiatives and the expected financial impact. Identify and implement areas of improvements such as increasing the level of data accuracy or decreasing the time spent to update a model or report. Educate self through industry readings, conferences, and other forums on critical financial and healthcare trends. Perform financial risk and payment/profitability variation analysis including some advanced statistical techniques. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) required - preferably in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field 5 years of financial analytic experience, preferably in a healthcare environment or relevant experience Ability to apply critical thinking and analytic skills to formulate recommendations and resolveproblems. Ability to research, analyze and interpret complex data. Strong financial skills, including a working understanding of the income statement, balance sheet and statement of cashflows. Sustained, proven ability to think analytically and use independent judgment. Collaborative and team-oriented communication style able to work effectively cross departmentally. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to propose actions, identify and illustrate opportunities, make recommendations and articulate financial impact of decisions to both clinical and administrative audiences Proficient with Excel functionality such as lookups, pivot tables, and charts, and comfortable working with large data sets. Great attention to detail. Able to independently grasp and apply new concepts quickly. Ability to effectively prioritize concurrent responsibilities and meet timelines. Proficient in the use of communication and organization tools such as Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Ability to work independently under minimal supervision with a wide degree of creativity and latitude. May manage projects independently or lead/direct the work of others. Ability to work in a high pressure, deadline oriented, and complex health care environment Ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities and meet timelines. Preferred:
Master's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field preferred Advanced Excel skills and experience with relational database tools such as SQL Server and Access . Extensive experience in exploratory data analysis and visualization Experience with financial software programs such as Kaufman Hall/Axiom, Tableau, PeopleSoft, Kronos, Workday. Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and financial statements. Working knowledge of healthcare payment methodologies. The annual base salary range for this position is from $88,670.40 to $132,974.40 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
