Overview
The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) is seeking a Grants/Research Finance Professional 4. The incumbent will be part of the collegiate finance team, performing post-award financial management for an assigned portfolio of faculty that spans multiple divisions. The incumbent will act as a finance contact between the divisions, UMN units such as SPA and SFR, and federal, state, public, and private organizations as appropriate; respond to varied situations requiring independent analysis and interpretation, using University policies and procedures, sponsor rules and regulations, and Uniform Guidance; prepare financial analysis and recommend actions based on analysis; and full charge financial management for their portfolio.

Work Arrangements

Anticipated salary range for this position in $90,000-$105,000, depending upon qualifications.
Essential Functions:
Financial Management - Sponsored Projects 90%
? Post-award management of extramural and internal awards
? Coordinate with pre-award staff to establish proposal budgets and ensure transition from pre- to post-award
? Coordinate with SPA/SFR for reporting, communications, amendments, and close-out
? Prepare monthly, annual, and ad hoc reports for proactive award management
? Facilitate regularly scheduled meetings with PIs to advise on financial status of projects; identify budget issues, communicate with project staff, and facilitate changes and corrections
? Coordinate effort certification; maintain payroll distributions
? Audit financial activity for compliance; approve/deny expenditures
? Maintain sponsored chart of accounts; process cost transfers
Financial Management â" Non-sponsored 10%
? Financial management of discretionary funds for assigned portfolio of faculty

? Bachelorâ™s Degree plus five years of professional work experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal nine years.
? Demonstrated experience working with grants.
Preferred Qualifications:
? Experience working in a higher education research environment.
? Knowledge of and ability to understand and apply financial policies and procedures.
? Current UMN Certified Approver or ability to gain certification within 12 months of employment.
? Experience with University of MN Enterprise Financial System (EFS), HRMS, UMN financial and accounting structure, and reporting systems. About University of Minnesota Twin Cities
