Our client is a leading wholesale food distribution company specializing in the contract manufacturing and distribution of "better for you" snacks to select grocery stores and food service establishments.Position Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of our wholesale food distribution business. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles in the wholesale food distribution industry.Key Responsibilities:Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close.Enter and deliver purchase orders to our vendors.Enter sales orders from our customers.Communicate with our Supply Chain Manager on incoming and outgoing orders.Adhere to internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.Enter and codify customer remittances and deductions. Analyze deductions for errors and submit claims for erroneous deductions.Other data reveiw and analysis as needed.Qualifications:5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a wholesale food environment. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards, with experience in the wholesale food distribution industry.Proficiency in Quickbooks Enterprise for Wholesale and Manufacturing including Sales Orders, Purchase Orders and Inventory Management.Advanced MS Excel skills including Pivot Tables and complex lookups.Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data and make strategic recommendations.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.Joining this client offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of a leading wholesale food distribution company and make a meaningful impact on the organization's financial performance.
