Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Executive Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The Executive Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service are consistently maintained. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a passion for culinary innovation, a keen attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence.
Responsibilities: Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop innovative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients, culinary trends, and member preferences. Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement. Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation, to ensure consistency and quality across all dishes. Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring compliance with local health regulations and club policies. Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and monitor food costs to maximize profitability while minimizing waste. Supervise and participate in the creation of daily specials, banquet menus, and special event catering, ensuring exceptional quality and execution. Foster positive relationships with suppliers, vendors, and purveyors to source the highest quality ingredients and products. Lead by example, demonstrating culinary expertise, creativity, and professionalism in all aspects of the role. Assist in menu costing, pricing strategies, and budget management to achieve financial goals and targets. Provide guidance, support, and feedback to kitchen staff to promote skill development, performance improvement, and career growth. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Executive Sous Chef in a high-volume, fine dining establishment or private club environment. Culinary degree, proven culinary experience, or equivalent certification from an accredited culinary institution preferred. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, and mentor a diverse team of culinary professionals. Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles, with a passion for creativity and innovation. Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with colleagues, members, and guests. Proficient computer skills, including experience with culinary software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
