Job Description The Building + Places Division of AECOM is actively seeking an Estimator for immediate employment for work in AECOM's office in Arlington, VA. This position is responsible for activities related to estimating all the elements of project cost, including labor, materials and permanent equipment, supplies, consumables and expenses, and construction equipment rental and operating costs, contingency, escalation and program risk, etc.
This role will be responsible for but not limited to the following: Provides estimates for each project phase: conceptual, schematic design, design development and construction documents Prepare detailed cost estimates via industry accepted methods such as RS Means for small and large projects. Estimates shall be provided in UNIFORMAT II and CSI format Ability to concentrate in one or more of the estimating disciplines, including architecture, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, civil and structural Prepares or assists in the preparation of order-of-magnitude, preliminary, definitive, change orders and check estimates using appropriate methods and techniques Prepares material, equipment, and labor take-offs Performs cost comparison analyses between in-house estimates and contractor estimates Works with Project Managers and other disciplines to evaluate appropriateness of budgets Utilizes the appropriate company and industry historical data for cost estimates Prepares project and discipline estimate summaries Basis of Estimate Establishes and maintains cost databases and product line specific parametric analysis tools Leads the estimate reconciliation process with the project team. Prepares bid packages, conceptual estimates and analysis of subcontractor bids etc. for projects. Maintains consistent and period communications with other estimators Prepares and/or coordinates preparation of full project estimates Introduced to the Company estimating systems and processes  Introduced to estimating terminology, measures, concepts and principles for preparing estimates Exposed to various processes, project actions and assumptions that may impact estimates Gathers, calculates and compiles data for use in developing all types of estimates Performs the routine aspects of estimating assignments Assists senior specialists in performing various estimating functions as required Exposed to drawings, specifications, work breakdown structures, charts of accounts, published and internal data used in preparing estimates Qualifications Minimum Requirements BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education Experience with construction means, methods, and sequences Experience with interpretation of drawings, specifications, Requests for Proposals, and contracts is essential Due to the nature of the work, candidate must be a US Citizen  Preferred Requirements Knowledge of MCACES/MII is a plus Knowledge of Success Estimator is a plus Knowledge of On-Screen-Takeoff or Constructconnect a plus Additional Information Sponsorship is not available for this position Relocation is not available for this position #LI-SG1
