The Estimator at Acterra Group plays a critical role in the accurate and efficient estimation of projects, specifically focusing on the construction and installation of fuel tanks. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of construction industry standards, with a particular emphasis on adherence to the Steel Tank Institute (STI) guidelines. The Estimator will utilize a specialized estimating software to ensure precise and reliable estimates. Key Responsibilities: Conduct thorough and detailed estimations for fuel tank projects, ensuring compliance with STI standards. Utilize estimating software to prepare accurate and competitive project bids. Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for estimates. Review and evaluate cost estimates, ensuring they accurately reflect the scope, timeline, and materials required for the project. Stay abreast of industry trends and cost fluctuations to ensure up-to-date and accurate estimations. Prepare detailed reports and presentations of estimates for review by senior management and clients. Assist in the negotiation and finalization of contracts based on estimated costs. Work closely with procurement and construction teams to monitor project progress and adjust estimates as necessary. About You: Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field – or equivalent experience. Additional certifications in estimating or project management, such as CPE (Certified Professional Estimator) or PMP, are beneficial. Experience in construction estimating, with a focus on fuel tank projects or similar government installations. Proven proficiency in using Quadra estimating software or similar tools. Familiarity with construction industry standards, particularly STI guidelines for above-ground fuel tanks. Experience in preparing and reviewing project bids and cost estimates.
