This position is for a Mobile ESOL & Digital Equity Instructor. Salary Range: $48,000-53,000 About the Position
The ESOL Instructor for Digital Equity Bus is responsible for classroom instruction and training to be held in a mobile classroom bus. Classes are offered at partner sites throughout the county. The Digital Equity Bus is equipped with an electronic Smartboard, access to cellular internet connection that produces a Wi-Fi network for class use, a class set of laptops, and teaching materials to support the curriculum and meet class outcomes. *The instructor will not drive the bus.
This role will plan for and deliver ESL and basic digital skills adult education classes, administer examinations, collect and record data as it pertains to student progress. The ESOL Instructor will integrate a holistic, student-centered approach to instruction and prepare students to become work-ready. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Prepare and provide in-person, virtual, or blended instruction and administer examinations in ESOL/Vocational ESOL, ESOL digital literacy, digital equity, and citizen test preparation. May teach other subjects depending on Instructor suitability and Center needs. Administer appraisals, pre- and post-tests and collect, submit, and analyze data via web-based case management platform for program reporting. Use effective, student-centered teaching practices and follow competency-based curriculum. Create lesson plans and prepare course materials to meet the needs of diverse learners, including the integration of technology in partnership with the Digital Equity Team. Collaborate with internal and external content area experts to develop curriculum relevant to vocationally specific ESL and/or ABE curriculum. Provide tutoring support, job search assistance, and feedback to students, collaborating closely with Case Managers and Employment Specialists to ensure a holistic approach to upskilling and training. Collaborate with the Instructional team, staff, and managers to implement student-centered initiatives. Attend required meetings, trainings and deliver presentations. Present special lectures, seminars, and workshops as requested. Maintain student records and data to track student progress and retention. Support the Center Manager and Digital Equity Manger in outreach efforts. Demonstrates safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture; reports any potential hazards or accidents. Perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Education or related field of experience and education; however, lived experience and international experience considered in lieu of more traditional, U.S. achieved credentials. Minimum two (2) years of teaching/training working with Adult Learners. Experience administering CASAS appraisals, pre-, and post-tests. Experience with remote instruction a plus. Committed to working with and supporting diverse communities. Ability to simplify and communicate complex ideas and tasks. Experience teaching/training students who may not have any formal education. Must be committed to creating and sustaining a learning environment in which students feel safe, supported and encouraged; foster an environment that is inclusive, culturally rich, and bias free. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and facilitation abilities. Willingness and ability to exercise sound professional judgement on issues of sensitivity. Ability to work in a smaller space as the bus vs. a regular classroom size setting. Remote and occasional weekend work required. Will require some evening instruction Must be able to meet travel requirements of up to 10% of work time locally and statewide. Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations: CPR/First Aid Certification a plus. State of Washington teaching certification/credential or equivalent a plus. Computer/Technology Skills: Highly proficient with web-based applications (Google Workspace), video conferencing, cloud computing, local area networks (LANs), and Microsoft Office. Ability to learn new technology and software as related to the job. Physical Demands :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required sit for long periods of time, communicate with other employees by talking and hearing and to operate computer systems. Able to safely lift/push/pull up to 25 lbs., grasp, handle, finger and manipulate items; perform repetitive fine motor functions with fingers, wrists, and arms, standing for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Able to communicate with others effectively both verbally and written, including those who have limited English skills. Maintain reliable attendance. Essential Mental/Sensory Abilities :

During intersessions and on Fridays, the instructor is expected to prepare for class, complete admin duties, register new students, assist with outreach, and perform other duties as assigned. The instructor will be based at the South Everett Job Training & Education Center location. Office/classroom environment; the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must have reliable transportation, as this position requires travel to offsite meetings and events. General Description of All Benefits
