We're offering a director-level management position that gives you the chance to lead a globally distributed software engineering team. This team specializes in Python and Golang and focuses on building Landscape, our systems management service tailored to assist enterprises in managing their Ubuntu operations at scale.
Responsibilities:
As the Director of Software Engineering, you'll oversee the day-to-day leadership of multiple teams spread across the globe. Your responsibilities will include owning the roadmap, setting the pace for the team, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software both as SAAS and on-premise.
What You'll Do:
Collaborate proactively with multiple distributed teams.
Assist engineering teams in establishing and achieving community engagement goals.
Establish consistency in community process, engagement, and interaction across engineering.
Influence others and represent technical insight to customers and other engineers.
Spend a significant amount of time mentoring others and providing cross-team input.
Work from home with global travel 4 to 6 weeks for internal and external events.
Requirements:

Experience in systems management of Linux infrastructure.
A public record of community engagement, particularly with open-source communities.
Comfortable preparing and giving presentations.
Experience building highly scalable Python web applications.
Experience building highly scalable SaaS applications.
