Mohawk is currently seeking full time and part time EMS Educators!
The EMS Educator- Certified Instructor Coordinator (EE-CIC) serves as an integral part of the training team to administer lab sessions and evaluate students' skill proficiency. Additionally, this person works in conjunction with all Education Center staff to coordinate and deliver essential training to Mohawk's EMS personnel.
Essential Functions The following is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities for this position. As with all Mohawk staff, the EE-CLI may be asked to do other related work as required in support of the broader mission and objectives of the company. •Provides training and mentoring to EMS staff to ensure exceptional provider performance and growth.
•Supports learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
•Assists the Executive Director of Education in coordinating the creation and implementation of staff training.
•Acts as an instructor in lab sessions, teaching and modeling necessary hands-on skills to students.
•Observes students in lab sessions to ensure each student is capable of independently completing each skill with proficiency.
•Communicates essential information utilizing multiple methods, in order to meet each student's individual learning needs.
•Assists with coordinating and tracking student attendance.
•Effectively manages student participation in each lab session.
•Attends training sessions, conferences, and workshops as needed to remain knowledgeable within the Emergency Medical Services field.
Qualifications Required: •NYS CIC Certification.
•NYS EMT or Paramedic Certification.
•Minimum of one year experience acting as an instructor in the EMS field.
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•Proficiency in emergency medical and life-saving techniques, practices, and procedures.
•Ability to act with integrity and professionalism.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Exceptional interpersonal skills.
•Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
•Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Preferred: •American Heart Association certified CPR Instructor.
•ACLS and PALS Instructor.
•Familiarity with REMO protocols.
•Proficient with using Google Classroom.
Physical Requirements •Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
•Ability to lift, carry and balance up to 125 pounds (250 pounds with assistance).
•Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
