Electrician - Helper

Job summary
Assist journeyman in planning, installation, testing, and repair of electrical systemsFollow applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standardsMaintain tools, clean work area, and participate in safety programs
Responsibilities
• Learn to use hand and power tools to assist electrician• Perform minor repairs and maintain tools and equipment• Load, transport, and unload materials for electrician• Clean work area, restock supplies, and help install related items• Participate in safety processes, report hazards, and investigate accidents• Plan and discuss safety measures, respond to hazards, and follow lockout/tag out procedures• Follow safety rules, communicate effectively, and perform math accurately• Coordinate work with other crafts, participate in training and mentoring• Produce quality work, read and understand plans, visualize drawings• Assist journeyman in planning, install and repair wiring and fixtures, observe equipment functioning
Requirements
• Experience as an electrician helper or laborer• Basic knowledge of electrical craft and NEC• Ability to understand and follow directions• Necessary licenses for jurisdiction, at least 18 years old• Complete pre-employment requirements, certifications• Physical ability to lift heavy items, stand, kneel, bend, stoop, etc.• Work in confined spaces, uneven areas, and varying temperatures• Use hands, perform repetitive movements, climb and maintain balance• Work on construction sites, in extreme weather and lighting conditions, around hazardous equipment
