We are looking for Electrical Engineers who want to work in a multi-disciplinary team that plays a key role in supporting national defense through ground testing of air and space systems. While these positions have some office work involved, the majority of the engineer's time is spent in the field or plant area working with our skilled craft workforce. This work involves practical application of engineering principles of electrical equipment sizing, troubleshooting, circuit protection and arc flash analysis of low and medium voltage equipment. These principles are applied through the use of engineering tools including generating risk assessments, work instructions, and other engineering documentation in support of testing. These positions may require some amount of shift work to support testing as test load demands.
As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will be involved in multiple entities of engineering including controls, instrumentation, design, facility data analysis, and modeling/simulating engineers to ensure reliable operation and ability to meet future test needs.
They perform as part of a cadre of mechanical and electrical engineers; whose job is to oversee installation, operation, sustainment, and troubleshooting of major equipment and systems such as large motors, compressors, electrical switchgear, over-current protection, transformers, PLCs, relays, and/or solid-state variable frequency systems that are needed to reliably provide test conditions to the test facilities. Requirements Basic Qualifications: B.S. degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university and a minimum of three to seven years of relevant and applicable experience. Current United States Citizenship is required. Preferred Qualifications: A minimum of 2 years of developmental experience such as practical work experience in relevant types of engineering such as systems startup, field engineering, or plant operations/maintenance in large industrial plants, utilities, process plants, or other engineering/construction firms. Educational concentration and/or work experience in low, medium, or high voltage power distribution. Educational and/or work experience in dealing with electrical systems or electrical components of mechanical systems. Technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering methods and construction methods and materials, and application of computer aided engineering (CAE)/computer aided design (CAD) tools to engineering problems. Working knowledge of major industry or regulatory standards and design criteria pertinent to the electrical engineering discipline. Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
