Job Title: Educational/IT Specialist
Position Overview:
As an Educational/IT Specialist at our organization, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining the seamless operation of our educational and information technology domains. Your responsibilities will encompass providing technical support, ensuring compliance with security protocols, and facilitating the continuous enhancement of our digital infrastructure. This position reports to the Project Manager and involves collaboration across various departments to optimize technological functionality and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert technical support for the maintenance and management of IT Network and associated systems, including the Learning Management System (LMS) - Moodle, SharePoint sites, servers, and local area network (LAN), among others.
Develop and deliver educational technology training materials faculty and staff, both through in-person sessions and electronically.
Collaborate with the Academics Manager and other team members to support technical aspects of course development within the Network.
Establish and maintain a tactical network, ensuring compliance with security policies and maintaining thorough system documentation.
Serve as the primary point of contact for managing technical issues and submitting trouble tickets, overseeing bug fixes, upgrades, and routine maintenance.
Coordinate video teleconferences and virtual training courses with external organizations.
Conduct preventive maintenance checks and services on IT equipment, ensuring readiness for upcoming training courses.
Assist in the development and execution of continuity of operations plans for IT-related capabilities.
Maintain strict accountability of IT-related equipment and ensure proper disposition and documentation of assets.
Qualifications:
Education:
Associate degree in technology preferred or three years of experience in an IT-related field.
CompTIA Security Plus certification or completion within six months of hiring.
Experience:
Minimum of five years of experience supporting military training and education, with at least three years in an IT-related role.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency in various software and operating systems, including Windows MS Office, MS SharePoint, Redhat/Linux, and VMWare vSphere.
Strong understanding of Department of Defense (DoD) and Marine Corps information processing standards, policies, and procedures.
Ability to independently analyze and resolve security problems using a wide range of security concepts and practices.
Familiarity with state-of-the-art practices of data automation and systems analysis.
Additional Information:
Ability to obtain or have a security clearance.
Minimal travel required.
Skillbridge Internships will be considered.
