Responsibilities
• Assist Children's Services Manager with program planning and oversight• Curriculum development• Record keeping• Overall operation of the child development service area of the Head Start Program• Supervision of assigned education staff
Requirements
• Director I and II qualification as stated in EEC guidelines• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field• Knowledge of EEC, QRIS, and NAEYC accreditation procedures• Experience in a managerial role• Knowledge in Head Start Performance Standards• At least one year of experience in a leadership role• Excellent organizational skills• Fluent in computer and data systems• Understand child assessment• Ability to advocate for the needs of infants/toddlers and preschool-aged children• Physically able to safely supervise children, lift up to 50 lbs., push/pull up to 75 lbs., climb stairs, participate in field trips and neighborhood walks• Pass CORI & DCF background checks• Meet state/federal mandates pertaining to credentials and professional development
