Director Purchasing

Oversees purchasing of goods and services, ensuring cost and quality standards are met. Establishes policies and procedures for identifying, evaluating, selecting and negotiating with vendors. Develops purchasing procedures (RFP/RFQ, bid, purchase order, or requisition processes) meant to ensure that quality standards for purchased goods or services are met while costs are minimized. May directly manage vendor relationships or work with vendors to resolve quality, shipping, or invoicing issues. Ensures completion of stated departmental goals and objectives. Assists in the preparation of budget requirements for department. Recommends and implements appropriate changes/improvements in departmental operations to improve productivity, increase effectiveness and cut costs. Maintains effective communication within areas of responsibility and with other areas of the company. Monitors the performance of direct reports to ensure that departmental goals and objectives are met. Directs and coordinates staff and activities of the Recycling, Mail Room and Records Retentions (Regional) departments. Promotes positive public relations. Performs other duties as assigned. College degree (may substitute additional experience for degree). Minimum of ten (10) years of appropriate experience. Must be proficient in Auto CAD Previous architecture experience strongly preferred. Strong analytical and technical skills. Competencies
