The Role:
Sail Biomedicines is seeking a highly motivated and innovative

Director , Preclinical Manufacturing to lead internal production operations related to preclinical eRNA and lipid nanoparticles (LNPs). As a leader within the Technical Operations department, you will oversee and actively contribute to the preclinical supply of all drug substances and drug products for Sail's pipeline of internal and partnered programs. You will closely collaborate across the entire organization, including process development, platform, applications, strategy, and supply chain functions to advance our programmable medicines.
Responsibilities
Lead all activities related to production of preclinical supply of eRNA and LNPs for the evaluation of Sails product pipeline.
Collaborate across the organization to ensure production is scheduled and executed in alignment with corporate priorities and project timelines.
Ensure activities are being executed to ensure target quality profiles are achieved and documented appropriately.
Further develop internal capabilities and capacities through process optimization and implementation of new technologies.
Track, monitor, and continuously identify opportunities to improve on performance metrics, including productivity, capacity usage, COGM, etc.
Maintain an active relationship and provide mentorship to the production team.
Work closely with the process development, automation, pilot operations and supply chain teams to ensure highly efficient operations.
Lead the effort in designing and implementing new processes / procedures within preclinical manufacturing facility.
Maintain scientific and technical expertise through familiarity with scientific literature, attending conferences, and developing relationships with thought leaders.
Work closely with an entrepreneurial, highly-collaborative, interdisciplinary team and actively contribute to creating, shaping and executing the scientific vision of the company.
Qualifications:
MS 16+ years of industry experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in bioengineering, chemical engineering, biology, virology, biochemistry or related field
5-10 years of experience leading teams in production operations, including resource scheduling, budgeting, supply chain activities, preferably related to nucleic acid and/or LNP products.
Strong management/mentoring experience and success in developing and coaching technical teams.
Experience with developing strategic timelines, monitoring performance metrics, and executing successfully on corporate goals.
Demonstrated ability in working with highly skilled teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and technical environment.
Strong verbal, written communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects concurrently, collaborate across disciplines and lead interdisciplinary activities to meet deliverables.
