Wurzak Hotel Group is looking for an experienced Director of Security & Valet Operations to support the oversight of all aspects of security and valet services of our stylish and contemporary lifestyle brand hotel, The Dalmar & Element located in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Florida.The Dalmar offers upscale accommodations with a variety of dining options including a rooftop bar with panoramic views of the city, a vibrant lobby bar, and a restaurant serving creative cuisine. The Director of Security & Valet's primary objective will be to ensure the safety and security of our guests and employees alike across our variety of upscale spaces, while providing top-notch valet services that enhance the overall guest experience from arrival through departure.General RequirementsDevelop and implement security policies, procedures, and protocols to safeguard the hotel, its guests, and employees.Manage a team of security personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.Identify, investigate, or resolve security breaches. Conduct regular security assessments and risk audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.Respond to medical emergencies, threats, fire alarms, and/or incidents, following emergency response procedures.Coordinate with local law enforcement agencies and emergency responders to address security concerns and incidents promptly.Oversee the valet parking operations, including staffing, training, and ensuring efficient and courteous service.Maintain accurate records of security incidents, accidents, and other relevant information, and prepare detailed reports as needed.Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to security and valet services.Ensure that packages and receivables are safely delivered to recipients.Ensure maintenance problems are promptly reported through proper channels.Any other tasks/duties as requested by management.The Company operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting and ending times, and hours worked in a week.Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Hospitality Management, or a related field (preferred).Minimum of 5 years of experience in hotel security management or a similar role.Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests, employees, and external stakeholders.Proficiency in security systems and technologies, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.Knowledge of local laws and regulations governing security operations and valet services.CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.Our PerksCompetitive SalaryPaid Time OffMedical, Dental, Vision health insuranceRobust supplemental insurance for Life, AD&D, Pets, legal and moreWellness programs for mental, physical, and financial wellnessHotel and travel discountsGenerous retirement/401k benefitsEducation and professional developmentEmployee lunches and recognition programsWho We AreWurzak Hotel Group (WHG) is a Philadelphia-based owner, developer, and operator of premium branded full-service, extended stay, and focus service hotels.
