The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a Director of Program Services for the Coastal Alabama Area Command, located in Mobile, Alabama.
About this opportunity:
This is a program and grant management position. This position plans, develops, and administers Program Services for the Command. Ensures work is in compliance with established policies & procedures. Writes and updates program policies & procedures as needed. Administers department budget and secures funding for programs. Research and write grant proposals and ensures compliance with contract agreements. Directs all social service functions for Command.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include: Knowledge of The Salvation Army mission, philosophy, culture, protocol, and organizational structure. Conducts all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles. Knowledge of the principles and practices of personnel and business management. Knowledge of the principles and practices of grant administration. Ability to read and interpret policies/procedures, legal documents and requirements to ensure compliance. Ability to supervise, lead, motivate, monitor and evaluate employees. Ability to prepare and maintain reports in an accurate, complete and timely manner. Ability to administer a budget and monitor expenditures for compliance with the same What we are looking for in you: Master's degree from accredited college or university in Public Health, Business Administration, Public Administration, Psychology, Counseling, Social work or related field AND five (5) years managerial experience in the mental health or substance abuse treatment setting OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in same AND ten (10) years managerial experience in mental health of substance abuse treatment settings Valid Driver's License Must be verified for compliance with Alabama Department of Mental Health (ADMH) Administrative Code by ADMH MHSAS certification process.
