The Opportunity:A corporate safety leadership opportunity with a leading construction materials supplier, who regards safety as it's primary core value.Covering 10 Eastern states, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and guidance to the workforce.The role will have a clear focus on developing a high performing safety department, striving for continual improvement across the region's plants/terminals.Job title: Health & Safety Director - East CoastCompany: US Owned, Leading Supplier of Construction MaterialsSalary:$155k - $185k + Bonus + Stock + BenefitsReports To:VP of SafetyScope: 125 Facilities & 2000+ Total EmployeesTeam Size: 3 Direct Reports (Area Managers) + 8 Senior Safety RepsKey Focus:Promote the company core safety values across the East divisionAccountable for division budgetsCompliance with company policy and federal, state, and local regulationsOversee regulatory agency submissionsMSHA, OSHA Logs/reports, FMCSACorporate initiatives and safety & health action plansTrains, coaches and mentors operations leaders and safety professionalsManage the division's overall safety performanceOverview and responsibility for significant safety eventsMonitor safety systemsUpdates on region's safety performance to senior managementIndustrial hygiene programmeTravel within the division as requiredCore Competencies:Bachelor's Degree in occupational safety, health or related field required10 years experience in safety leadership, ideally 5 years at management levelMining, construction or similar industrial experienceStrong understanding of MSHA, OSHA, FMCSA (DOT)Excellent communication at all levelsBudget managementSuccessful leadership in major operating industrial facilities
