The University is committed to creating a community in which a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff can thrive.The Position:Reporting to the Executive Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations, the incumbent will assist the Executive Director and the university in securing private gifts and grant monies in support of institutional priorities from corporations and foundations. The incumbent will assist with securing corporate sponsorship support for key University events. They will work strategically with constituent groups (leadership, faculty, staff) to successfully meet the corporate and foundation goals when reporting program and grant criteria outcomes. Under the direction of the Executive Director, the incumbent will inform campus faculty, deans, and department chairs of relevant grant opportunities by sourcing, researching, developing, and facilitating solicitation strategies and proposal submissions. The incumbent will meet annual goals for funds raised, proposals submitted, success rate and contacts. They will manage and expand a personal portfolio of key local, regional, and national corporate and foundation prospects. They will work in a collegial manner within University Advancement and across the university in implementing strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward corporate and foundation prospects and donors, in accordance with university office requirements and departmental Development Policies and Procedures.Required Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and five years of experience in proposal/grant writing and stewardship/donor relations with corporate and private foundations, either in higher education or nonprofit environment. Experienced with grant identification, cultivation, solicitation, and prospect research. Working knowledge of Raiser's Edge, or a similar donor database platform. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Successful track record of establishing, building, and maintaining strong professional relationships with internal and external constituents and stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Incumbent must demonstrate an interest or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Major gift fundraising or campaign experience. Proficiency with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge/NXT.Compensation:Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary range is $4,812 - $15,449/monthly. (Budgeted Hiring Salary Range $9,167 - 10,000/monthly) A comprehensive benefits package is provided.Appointment:The Administrator II appointment will be made under the guidelines for management and supervisory employees of the California State University. All rights and benefits associated with this appointment are governed by the Management Personnel Plan.This position is a "designated position" in the California State University's Conflict of Interest Code.
