Job summary
Lead the design development and integration of complex programs with multiple rows of seat beltsCoordinate integration and tradeoffs between seat belts systems to optimize the overall seat belts enterprise cost while ensuring program requirements are achievedProvide technical leadership for overall seat belts performance and associated tradeoffs for comfort, crash worthiness, cost, mass, etc.

Responsibilities
• Lead the design development and integration of complex programs with multiple rows of seat belts with varying scope• Coordinate integration and tradeoffs between seat belts systems to optimize the overall seat belts enterprise cost while ensuring program requirements are achieved• Provide technical leadership for overall seat belts performance and associated tradeoffs for comfort, crash worthiness, cost, mass, etc.• Collaborate with SI engineers, internal technical resources, vehicle program teams, purchasing, design staff on design solutions while ensuring alignment to program and SMT objectives• Lead all aspects of the development and maintenance of the program seat belt system, seat belt components, integration DFMEA's, and component level validation• Coordinate, track, lead and optimize enterprise piece and tooling costs for large scope seat belt development activity• Lead focused problem-solving efforts on significant cost/quality/warranty issues on seat belt programs• Demonstrate dedication to customer focused product development• Apply DFSS methodologies to insure robust design development and trade off management
Requirements
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering Required• 2+ years engineering experience• Capable to work independently and effectively with others• Comfortable working with multidisciplinary and cross-cultural teams• Ability to deal with ambiguity and forward-thinking environment• Capacity to lead projects, provide accurate time estimates, and prioritize efficiently• Demonstrated experience in Interior Restraint (steering wheel, airbag or seat belt) Systems• Design Release experience• Vehicle integration experience within Interior/Safety or other functional areas• Design For Six Sigma / Red X experience
