The  Database and Scheduling Manager at Hopkins School is an exempt faculty employee (12 months) reporting directly to the Dean of Academics.
Responsibilities include: Student Information System/Database Management (SIS) Responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, and oversight of Blackbaud database structure and content. Annual Procedures: Rollover of the school year, graduation, and promotion of student body. Report card management: updates to report cards, grades and comments management, oversight of grade strategies, and reporting. Data maintenance and standardization to maintain accurate and secure contact, demographic, and personal information for employees, students, and families. Schedule Management Supervise School Scheduling Office; School Scheduler reports directly to the Database and Scheduling Manager Configure the academic year schedule infrastructure to include: building schedule sets, blocks, course offerings, grading options, terms, lab blocks, MSON classes, activities, athletics, lunch, and free periods. Run the first draft algorithm to find scheduling conflicts and check for graduation requirements. Collaborate with the Dean of Academics and Dean of Students to generate and execute timelines and processes for course selection. Manage communication and analysis/facilitation of course request approvals and enrollments. Oversee the scheduler's office. Maintain and build the daily schedule. Create and implement special schedules and modify daily schedules as needed for days off, schedule swaps, etc. Work with stakeholders across the Hopkins Program to innovate how we use our student information system to communicate and schedule. Work with our school store manager to provide data and support for the annual book sale. Learning Management System Management (LMS) Collaborate with the Dean of Academics and APC to determine LMS policies and procedures. Work with department chairs to determine compliance with and efficacy of policies. Manage training on core functionalities, and support Academic Technology Integrationist to facilitate higher level training. Maintain communication with Blackbaud about updates and problems. Database Analysis Use our data to help guide the school. Work with Head of School, Department Chairs, Head Advisers, and other administrators to pull data sets of interest. Process data sets to provide insights to assist aforementioned administrators in making strategic, data-driven decisions. Miscellaneous Provide technical support on LMS/SIS-related problems and questions. Substitution management using EZSchoolapps software integration with LMS. Bulk data uploads for various departments (e.g. Athletics, Parent Teacher Conferences, etc.). Liaison for MSON Program. Teach one class section of Computer Science, Math, or Science and/or Advise. Desired Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field. A minimum of 2 years of administrative experience with Blackbaud's Education Management Solution (SIS/LMS).  Scheduling experience preferred. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or Google Spreadsheet. About Hopkins School
