An employer is seeking a Database Administrator to join their team based in Hartford CT. This program is supporting one of the state executive departments within the education system. This will be a hybrid position and will require a DBA to be onsite at the various technical high schools across Hartford County. The overarching project is to upgrade and overhaul the district's current Point of Sale (POS) cafeteria management system. The specific POS system that they are moving to is TITAN, and TITAN will integrate with other systems in place and allow many processes to be automated that are currently manual. This will help automate recipes, inventory, lunch menus, etc. across the cafetoria. The Database Administrator will be responsible for the data migration, data cleanup, data reporting, as well as managing and maintaining the hardwired lines and wireless connections in the system and the hardware that connects to the system. The majority of this data is currently housed in Access and SQL databases. They will help analyze the departments overarching needs to figure out what they need from a technical systems perspective. They will as help plan a strategy to maintain system security within the network, and assign and update security permissions. They will also handle tracking, installing, and configuring software updates and database backups to restore and protect user information. This Database Administrator will also be involved in testing and piloting, creating API connections, grading user interface reports, and the research and development of this ongoing effort.

6+ years of experience as a Database Administrator
Expertise automating processes within data applications/systems
Experience managing and extracting data from Access databases
Experience with data migration and data cleanup
Experience with Fixed Asset System Integrations Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience working within a school or educational agency
Experience with TITAN Point of Sale system
