Position Overview: As a Business Unit Controller, you will oversee financial activities for our client's Columbus plant. This position is ideal for an existing Controller with manufacturing experience looking to join a global manufacturer. Key Responsibilities:
Cost Accounting Management: Oversee cost accounting processes, including the analysis of manufacturing costs, overhead allocation, and inventory valuation. Develop and maintain cost accounting systems and methodologies to accurately capture production costs and enhance cost control measures. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Lead the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization and operational improvement. Budgeting and Forecasting:
Drive the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to establish cost targets and performance metrics aligned with business objectives. Develop and analyze financial forecasts to support strategic decision-making and resource allocation. Treasury Management:
Manage cash flow and liquidity to ensure adequate funding for day-to-day operations and capital investments. Optimize cash management strategies to minimize borrowing costs and maximize returns on excess cash. Financial Controls and Compliance:
Establish and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including SOX compliance. Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors to facilitate the audit process. Operational Support:
Provide financial insights and analysis to support operational decision-making, including product costing, pricing strategies, and capital investment evaluations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive process improvements across manufacturing operations. Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Provide guidance and development opportunities to support the growth and advancement of team members. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting. CPA or MBA preferred. 10+ years of Accounting leadership experience. Internal experience in the manufacturing sector required. Proven leadership experience, demonstrating effective team management.
