Marathon Petroleum Company LP has an opening for a Document Control Coordinator at its refinery located in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The position is based out of Marathon Petroleum's Salt Lake City, UT Refinery, providing Document Control support to the Engineering Department, as it relates to project documentation and budget support. Responsibilities include organizing and administering database systems for controlled drawings and documents such as P&ID's (piping and instrument diagrams), plot plans, electrical one-line diagrams, corrosion control documents, equipment data sheets, etc. Stewards electronic document control systems and facilitates access and use by all Refinery Departments.
Key Responsibilities
Develops, revises, and implements local document management procedures in accordance with corporate standards.
Provides information and guidance on updating, naming convention, filing and storing of electronic and paper based documents. Ensures understanding of proprietary nature and compliance requirements of documents in collaborative team environment. Secures and facilitates revision of controlled documents and drawings in accordance with established procedures. Ensures all assigned personnel follow established document control processes in transmittal systems. Facilitates awareness of company's requirements with outside engineering construction firms on awarded projects.
Ensures all controlled drawings and documents created and/or revised are delivered and electronically filed per site and corporate requirements.
Prioritize and optimize flow of documents and ensures timeliness in handling, processing, resolving request and/or problems in electronic document filing systems. Coordinates revisions of controlled drawings and documents for all engineering projects.
Maintains accurate, timely information of document and drawing records into electronic document system. Manages migration of all hard copy and electronic documents into system. Identifies and resolves document management system discrepancies (metadata, naming convention, transmittal, check in/out procedures, etc.).
Serves as point of contact and coordinates plant-wide communication for all controlled documents.
Processes all document requests and submittals (internal & external), maintains a Master Document Register to ensure engineering and field changes are incorporated into the appropriate Document Management System.
Audits engineering and construction packages to ensure conformity to Document Management Systems by identifying and communicating discrepancies. Provides quality control and quality assurances to revisions and document releases for control purposes within project phases (Conceptual, Feasibility, Definition, Implementation, Start-Up/Close-Out).
Liaisons for process safety management (PSM) document audits (off and on-site). Supports management of change (MOC) work process by facilitating project close-out updates with project engineering. Ensures plant personnel have access to accurate PSI documentation.
Provides direct supervision of on-site contract employees and oversight for off-site contractor support
Minimum Qualifications
Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Accounting, Business Administration/Management, or related discipline
5 years' experience in records management of engineering and design documentation preferred.
