Responsibilities
• Provide instruction in residential and commercial construction• Teach carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical trade skills• Teach teamwork, communication, problem solving, and computer technology• Develop and maintain career pathways for students• Prepare instructional materials and manage resources• Obtain NCCER program certification• Teach Introduction to Engineering and Technology Concepts• Understand and teach young persons 13 to 18• Lead student experiences in related student organizations• Contribute to school improvement plan and career completer goals• Promote and advance technical skills through partnerships• Participate in recruitment and selection of students• Create an instructional environment that supports student development• Communicate with students, parents, and school administrators• Maintain student academic, attendance, and disciplinary records• Monitor and assess students' academic progress• Collaborate with colleagues and serve on committees• Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
• 3-5 years of industry-related work experience• Teaching experience preferred• Knowledge of residential and commercial construction• Possession of or eligibility for teaching and NCCER certifications• Pedagogy and instructional techniques knowledge• Skill in lesson planning and student instruction• Ability to supervise and manage student behavior• Effective communication skills• Proficiency in database, internet, spreadsheet, and word processing applications• Positive working relationships and confidentiality management
