We currently provide high-quality drinking water to Charlotte, DeSoto and Sarasota Counties, and the City of North Port. Plans are in place for the Authority to provide water to Manatee County in the future. In order to ensure that drinking water needs are met and that supplies are developed in a cost effective and environmentally sustainable manner, the Authority has developed policies to guide management and planning for the long-term. The cornerstone of this is the Integrated Regional Water Supply Master Plan, which is updated approximately every five years. This plan contains information from our member governments outlining water needs and sources.
We are looking to add a motivated inspector to our team for a long term role!
What you need:
Bachelor's Degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field preferred Knowledge of construction techniques, practices, and materials. Knowledge of construction regulations and requirements. Utility or water/waste water exp preferred Knowledge of Authority policies and procedures. Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to plan, organize, schedule, and conduct work. Ability to identify hazards and apply apply safety precautions What you will be doing:
Responsible for construction and inspection as well as maintaining and creating records of Authority infrastructure and data collected. Employees in this class perform duties of considerable difficulty, requiring initiative and independent judgment under general supervision. Performs inspections of systems and facilities during construction for conformance with approved plans and specifications.
