Instructure is seeking a talented commercial contracts attorney to join its fast-paced and rapidly growing business. This attorney will gain a wide breadth of experience in a collaborative and supportive environment, while becoming an expert in our business. This attorney will be responsible for helping to manage the legal aspects of Instructure's global commercial presence, including the drafting, review and negotiation of SaaS contracts, purchasing agreements and other commercial contracts.What you will be doingDraft, review, and negotiate SaaS agreements with customers and work closely with our sales and customer success teams to close both new and renewal revenue dealsDraft, review, and negotiate a wide range of other commercial agreements, including partnership agreements, reseller agreements, vendor agreements, and other agreements that may come up in the day to day operations of a vertical SaaS technology companyInnovate and simplify internal contracting processes and standards Create, review and improve templates, "playbooks," and policiesBecome a trusted partner to our sales, procurement and business teams and build strong and professional relationships with our employees and customersAssist with other legal support tasks that ariseWhat you will need to know/haveA juris doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and membership in good standing in at least one state bar or international equivalentA minimum of 2 years of experience with commercial contracts or general corporate transactions at either a top-tier law firm or in-house. Specific experience drafting and negotiating SaaS agreements in-house at a technology company is preferred.Experience drafting and negotiating SaaS agreements across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia is a plus.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high stakes environment, effectively and efficiently managing high volumes of contracts.
