Gilliatte General Contractors seeking an Construction Project Manager Intern that is interested in learning the big picture. In this position you will participate in the execution of the needed objectives. Interns must be self-motivated and able to succeed in a dynamic environment. This role will be responsible for learning how to estimate commercial projects while working with our construction team.
Essential Job Accountabilities:
This role involves being able to review bid documents, assist Senior Project Managers create a strategic plan and complete accurate bids by:
Preparing and maintain online plan room and onsite sets,
The Locating and coordination of Subcontractors bids (we do not self-perform work),
Create scopes of work from bid document(s)
Create vendor list and send Invitations To Bid,
Maintains communication with subcontractors, vendors and owners,
Review bids for complete scope and accuracy,
Prepare owner bid with construction team for submittal,
Develop and maintain business relationships with subcontractors and vendors to increase bid opportunities.

Qualifications:
Candidate must have a 2-4 years of education in commercial construction,
Must be well organized and self-motivated,
Must have high attention to detail and accuracy,
Must demonstrate the ability to take the lead assisting and developing proposals in a timely and successful manner,
Skills in reading and interpreting plans and specifications,
Skills in both verbal and written communication,
Experience with Microsoft Office, and basic take off and estimating software. Experience using preferred
Must be able to lift 75 lbs
Must be able to travel 1-2 days per week to the jobsite.
Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces
