Job Description:
You will play a pivotal role in providing initial and ongoing training to coding staff, ensuring their proficiency and professional growth. You will tackle complex coding issues, offering insightful resolutions, and spearhead the development of training programs to enhance team capabilities.

Essential Job Functions:
Provide comprehensive training to new coding team members and ongoing education for existing staff.
Actively participate in monthly pre-dispute and dispute processes.
Develop electronic training modules, validation systems, and other educational resources to support team development.
Research emerging coding topics or issues and implement educational initiatives and continuous improvement updates.
Offer quality coding consultations to support accurate and efficient coding practices.
Collaborate in the preparation for and participation in monthly coding meetings.
Conduct focused coder audits, identify trends, and deliver targeted coder education.
Work closely with analysts to revise existing standard operating procedures and develop new protocols.
Stay abreast of current trends and practices in coding principles and government regulations through ongoing education and professional development activities.
Assist with additional departmental duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency in ICD-10-CM and CPT coding, along with a solid understanding of payer and coding guidelines.
Strong computer skills, particularly in a Windows environment, with expertise in word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint.
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong problem-solving skills with the capability to research and resolve discrepancies effectively.
Excellent communication skills, enabling courteous and professional interactions with colleagues, management, and physicians.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling duties in an organized manner.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Accreditation such as RHIT, RN, CPC, or CCS-P.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit for prolonged periods and occasionally engage in walking, standing, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 15 pounds.
Close visual acuity is necessary to perform the job effectively.
Hourly Rate: $21.59 - $39.34
