Work Unit | Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratories
Faculty and staff at the CSU Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratories (VDL) are among the nation's finest in their fields of expertise and offer comprehensive diagnostic services. The mission of the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (VDL) is to provide timely, accurate and pertinent animal disease diagnostic services and educational outreach to veterinarians, animal industries and animal interests. The Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory will strive to meet the goals the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and the University through research to develop new approaches to disease identification, investigation, prevention and through education of professional veterinary medical, graduate, and post-doctoral students.

Position Summary The primary purpose of this position is to provide customer service and business operations support for the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratories. The Client Services Case Specialist position will provide assistance and support to both the Client Services and Operations Manager and the Business Officer, in the areas of business operations and client service. This position will provide insight and advice on departmental procedures such as data entry, case review, and case invoicing. This position must work with faculty members and veterinarians on case issues to ensure proper case workflow and invoicing. This position plays a central role in day-to-day operations of the department's main office and will be expected to use diplomacy, along with exceptional communication skills, to handle all interactions and emergencies in a professional and level-headed manner. Ability to work autonomously with high productivity and showing good decision making.


Due to the nature of the department's work, this is a fully in-person position located at the Diagnostic Medical Center, Fort Collins, CO.
The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. by proposed start date; Colorado State University Diagnostic Laboratories will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.

Job Duty Category Diagnostic Case Management


Duty/Responsibility This position will manage reporting and invoicing of diagnostic medical cases.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, both independently and as part of a team Manage diagnostic cases for faculty and veterinary service providers. Review cases to ensure that reports are in the correct format, are complete, are free from errors, and will meet our clients expectations. For case reports that have issues, work directly with faculty members and veterinary service providers to address and rectify the issues. Communicate directly with faculty and veterinary service providers on management of their case reports Review pending case reports and work with faculty and veterinary service providers to complete these case reports in a timely manner. Report results to clients. Answer client and VDL personnel questions regarding case reports. Review charges associated with diagnostic cases and ensure accuracy. Send invoices to clients and communicate any issues to supervisors. Train other VDL staff on diagnostic case management responsibilities, as needed. Ensure appropriate workflow of diagnostic case reports for pathologists. Other duties as assigned. Percentage Of Time 50

Duty/Responsibility The position will provide client services and administrative assistant duties for the laboratory.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manage the workflow of building new client information into multiple systems Enter case information into the billing and records system verifying correct veterinarian/owner information and test chosen. Knowledge of tests, times/dates performed, and pricing information is essential. Work with assigned pathologist(s)/laboratory section(s) to keep cases current. Worklists are monitored weekly with delayed accessions investigated, invoiced, or pending portion documented. Provide exceptional service to laboratory personnel and clients. Assist with office coverage during core business hours, as needed. Provide training to other client services personnel, as needed. Other duties as assigned. Percentage Of Time 40
