Position: Civil Engineer / Civil Project Engineer (Residential & Commercial Land Development)

Minnesota Professional Consulting Services firm that specializes in civil engineering, land surveying, land planning, and environmental services actively seeks Civil Engineer / Civil Project Engineer for our Residential and Commercial Land Development Division in Minnetonka, MN. The Civil Engineer / Civil Project Engineer is a highly productive role and is primarily responsible for the design and development of civil land development project documents using specified standards while following specific process and procedures. This individual works in a collaborative team environment taking direction from the P.E. Licensed project lead. Production goals range from 90-95%.
Ideal Civil Engineer / Civil Project Engineer Qualifications and Experience Needed:
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Associates Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, or closely related degree
- Three (3) to Ten (10) years of civil engineering industry work experience preferrable pertaining to the civil engineering land development industry
- Civil3D skills and experience
- P.E. license is ideal (preferred), but we are also open to professionals that currently have their EIT Certification and the ability to obtain their P.E. licensed within a year
- Hands on technical civil engineering design and construction document production experience
Prior civil engineering land development experience pertaining to commercial site development or large scale residential subdivision projects are preferred
Civil Engineer / Civil Project Engineer Essential Role and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for performing the necessary Civil CAD drafting design tasks to prepare preliminary and final plans in accordance with client, Local Government and company standards while also performing calculations for the design.
- Responsible for reviewing local zoning codes, preliminary entitlements process requirement and submittals (City, County, DOT, watershed, etc.) and permitting requirements and submittals (City, County, State, etc.).
- Responsible for the preparation and review of civil land development project reports and specifications if necessary.
- Works diligently with Civil Engineer Project Manager or Sr. Civil Project Engineer to complete civil land development work within scope, budget and on schedule.
- Communicates and coordinates civil land development project work with all project team members.
- Responsible for maintaining and organizing civil land development project files in the network project folder.
- Completes specific civil land development quality control tasks at the direction of the Civil Engineer Project Manager or Sr. Civil Project Engineer.
- Assist with maintaining the existing client relationships by providing exceptional service and quality through the development of our documents and deliverables.
- Respond to firm staff and clients in a timely fashion.
