$18-$20/HR, Paid Sick Leave, Dental, Vision, Health Insurance Contributions, Chef de Partie, cook We are seeking cooks who want to be chefs. Our goal is to find talented individuals that are passionate about food so we can give them the tools to be successful. For this position, success is defined as doing your best and producing high quality ingredients. We strive to create a team-based atmosphere where individuals can grow together.
We put local first. We sort things through the priority list of Local Independent Producer > Texas > Regional > Other when deciding what to purchase each week. This allows us to support our community as much as possible while giving us access to the best they have to offer.
This purchasing ethos reflects in our menu greatly. It changes often, mostly due to availability, but also seasonality. What this means is we have to work hard to accentuate something that is already very precious. We do this by milling our own grains, making bread and pasta from scratch, butchering whole animals, and fermenting food waste.
We only have two requirements to work at Emmer and Rye: The first is the willingness to work within our team. The second is to be present in the work that we do. Outside of that we are prepared to train people to do any skill within our kitchen. Experience is not a disqualification for candidates.

Monetary related compensation includes:

This position is part of our restaurants tip pool, the base wage is $8 + Tips. The advertised compensation is an average of the last 12 months.
