As staff Occupational   Therapy Assistant will participate in the daily activities of therapy services. He/she performs selected patient treatments under the general supervision of a Staff Occupational Therapist, the Inpatient Therapy Supervisor. An Occupational Therapy Assistant administers occupational therapy treatment to patients as defined in the Kansas Occupational Therapy Practice Act. He/she has the responsibility for the overall direction, utilization supervision, instruction and evaluation of OTA students utilized in the department/facility. He/she prepares patients and equipment for treatment; may help perform the housekeeping duties of the department/facility; performs other diverse duties as requested or required. The COTA is involved in documenting as necessary and appropriate. 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and experience:
Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Assistant Program accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). Preferably a minimum of one (1) years' experience. Knowledge and Skills:
Must know principles and practice of Occupational Therapy, be familiar with the American Occupational Therapy Association Code of Ethics. Licensure and certifications:
Must have, or be eligible for State Licensure. Licensure must be obtained as per state law. Must have, or immediately obtain BLS.
