We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Medical Assistant to join our Cardiology Clinic. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cardiology care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide compassionate support to patients and healthcare providers. As a CMA in our clinic, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality cardiovascular care to our patients. In this role the duties you could perform are as follows: Assist cardiologists and other healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments. Prepare patients for cardiac testing, including EKGs, stress tests, and echocardiograms. Perform vital sign measurements, venipuncture, and specimen collection for laboratory testing. Administer medications, injections, and cardiac medications as directed by providers. Maintain accurate medical records, update patient histories, and document procedures in electronic health records (EHR). Coordinate patient appointments, referrals, and follow-up care as needed. Provide patient education on cardiovascular health, medications, and lifestyle modifications. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required. High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a cardiology clinic or related healthcare setting is preferred. Knowledge of cardiac terminology, procedures, and medications. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and medical office software. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinic environment and prioritize tasks. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Why UnityPoint Health?
