Qualifications Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to communicate with patients, visitors and staff both orally and in writing.
Minimum Experience: Previous experience as Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant or similar including the care of children
Assists with toileting i.e. bedpan, commodes, urinals, incontinence care.Proper body mechanics for transfers/ambulation.Vital signs.Completion of phlebotomy course;
with at least 120 hours of clinical rotation in a medical arena OR75 hours of clinical rotation in a medical arena with one (1) year healthcare experience required OR Five (5) years of continuous phlebotomy experience ORGraduation from an accredited Medical Assistant ProgramRequired Certification/Registration: National Phlebotomy Certification required within 6 months or National Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months.Completion of AHA – BLS Healthcare Provider Course – Current and On-going;Successful completion of Orientation program including classroom and clinical components;Validation of required performance skills. Physical Requirements: Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking. Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patient. Considerable reaching,stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching. Visual acuity and color discrimination is required. Ability to communicate effectively and to comprehend conversation. Must have manual dexterity and hand-to-eye coordination. Must anticipate unexpected movements by patients. Capable of working assigned hours at varied times during the day or night. Alertness required during all phases of work.
