St Vincent de Paul is one of the longest serving social charities in Louisville. We are located in the up-and-coming Smoketown/Shelby Park neighborhood. Through our homeless shelters, supportive housing programs, professional case management services, and retail thrift stores, we provide compassion and hope for people struggling to overcome barriers to self-sufficiency. Position Summary: 
The Cashier/Store Lead contributes to the Agency's mission by performing regular duties and responsibilities: Greeting and assisting customers, answering questions, operating cash register, opening & closing the Store, helping with pricing and sale of donated merchandise.  This position is located at our Hikes Lane Store (2217 Hikes Lane).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Greet customers in a courteous mannerOperate cash registerAssist with opening and closing of the StoreAssist in maintaining the security of the Store and its contentsPerform daily duties as directed to keep Store clean and orderlyPerforms other duties as assigned  Specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Ability to communicate with and assist customers, volunteers, and donorsGreat people skillsAbility to operate a cash registerAbility to stand and walk/remain on feet for long periods of time (essential to the job)Ability to lift up to 25 poundsCommitment to the Mission and goals of SVDP Knowledge/interest in electronics is a plus Education, Qualifications, Certifications, Trainings, Licenses: High School diploma/GEDA combination of education, training, and experience that results in demonstrated proficiency to perform the work may be substitutedSuccessfully pass required pre-employment background and drug screening Reporting to this position: None
