Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Braillist to join our team to support students with vision impairments by providing accessible materials. The Braillist will work closely with teachers of students with vision impairments (TSVIs) to transcribe materials into braille, large print, or electronic formats as needed. This position requires in-person, onsite work on campuses.

Major Responsibilities and Duties: Transcribe materials, including books, workbooks, testing material, and classroom work, into braille or other requested formats
Maintain accurate records of all transcriptions and properly labeled electronic files
Manage time effectively to ensure materials are available when needed by students
Make necessary adaptations of materials for students with visual impairments in collaboration with TSVIs
Stay current in computer technology related to braille production and interfacing with students braille-related assistive technology
Order and maintain an inventory of supplies needed for job duties
Maintain a resource file for locating alternative sources of braille, large print, or electronic materials
Demonstrate proficiency in correct English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation
Requirements Washington State License and Certification
Fingerprints on file with OSPI prior to starting
