Responsibilities
• Perform financial analysis, credit analysis, and risk assessment of bond contracts to determine underwriting exposure through the use and interpretation of financial-based computer applications• Complete underwriting on new business and renewal bond contracts• May increase renewal premium by cross-selling additional coverage, products or service• Follow, and be able to research, underwriting rules, guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating manuals• Process renewal form letters, status inquiry reviews, and revisions• Send out supplies, kits, and guides to assigned agents• Provide guidance to agents, and to other departments, regarding various underwriting information• Effectively communicate underwriting decisions and appetite to agents• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers• Conduct continuous profit and growth analysis by territory and agency as assigned
