Phillips-Medisize a Molex Company is seeking an Automation Engineering Manager to support our Shared Engineering Resource group that supports all Phillips-Medisize manufacturing facilities. The position will coordinate, direct and lead automation activities to ensure optimum engineering for supported programs and projects to meet customer and manufacturing requirements. This may include customer interface, vendor management, resolution of design issues and working with Phillips-Medisize facilities and internal customers in a courteous, timely and cost-effective manner. Our Team
The mission of the Shared Engineering Resource (SER) Automation team is to share automation knowledge, technology, and expertise to deliver machines throughout Phillips-Medisize to successfully launch our customers' products. As a division resource it supports Phillips-Medisize sites by leading the Automation Community of Practice to establish global best practices, managing our global vendor list, quoting automation to win business, and providing surge support for new product introduction projects. What You Will Do Lead the Automation SER team. Focus on people development and evaluate their performance. Provide appropriate coaching, training, and guidance. Support the Global Cost Development team by leading Automation SMEs to provide innovative solutions and strategies to win profitable programs. Support New Product Introduction by supporting the development and building of automation for all Phillips-Medisize functions, division, and markets. Lead the division-wide Automation Community of Practice (CoP) focused on standardization, continuous improvement, education and exploration of new technologies, and creation of automation best practices for Phillips-Medisize. Imbed the organization's culture into quoting, development, qualification, production, and supplier management. Manage and evaluate supplier performance including the selection of new suppliers, collaboration with existing suppliers, and sourcing determination for all materials purchased. Coordinate cross training activities with other departments to reach maximum capabilities. Key to this role is communication, problem-solving, decision making, planning, delegation, and time management. Understand, support, and contribute to current Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) 5+ years of automation experience. Experience leading/coaching internal/customer/vendor teams to source production automation. Experience using analytical tools to develop machines to meet product/process critical to quality (CTQ) requirements. What Will Put You Ahead Experience with medical product assembly, GAMP, and validation methods. Experience with complex automation machine design and building techniques. Experience with molding and product design for manufacturability.
This position does not qualify for VISA Sponsorship
In order to comply with U.S. export control laws and regulations, this position requires applicants to either provide proof of U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status or be eligible to receive an export authorization (a license) under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and/or the Export Administration Regulations.
For this role, we anticipate paying $120,000 - $145,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
