Associate Dean of the Wisconsin Prison Initiative Extension Site(s) (WPI)

Summary:
The Associate Dean provides overall leadership to the WPI Extension site(s) while teaching courses within his/her discipline, ideally biblical studies and Christian ministry. Students come from diverse religious and racial backgrounds and are prepared for potential ministry (or at least significant positive impact) within their communities including within and outside of the institution.
Responsibilities:
* Teach 7 or 8 3-credit courses per year.
* Ensure that the program operates within the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (WI DOC) security and movement policies.
* Cooperate with the education department at the host correctional facility (facilities) or other relevant departments on the scheduling of program related activities (classes, graduation, recruitment, etc.).
* Complete assessment and other reports as required by TIU for the Wisconsin Prison Initiative Extension Site(s).
* Aid in the recruitment of new students within the WI DOC.
* Supervise and schedule approved adjunct faculty and other staff including staff members provided by WIEA in their educational functions.
* Maintain library, course books, and other relevant supplies.
* Liaise with the TIU online department with regard to instructional design.
Qualifications:
* Supportive of Trinity's mission and core values, commitment to a Christian lifestyle, and demonstration of character in keeping with biblical models.
* Master's degree required; earned doctorate preferred, in a field related to biblical studies, Christian ministry, or theology. In addition to doctorate, MDiv is preferred.
* Prior teaching experience, preferably within the context of adult education.
* Verifiable skills in program administration.
* Significant ministry involvement in a local church or similar Christian organization.
Working Relationships:
The Associate Dean reports to the Dean of the College and Graduate School or successor position. Maintenance of a cooperative working relationship with the Wisconsin Inmate Education Association is expected.
Work Schedule:
* Work site is the Fox Lake Correctional Institution, Fox Lake, WI.
* Work schedule follows the prison schedule including classes that begin by
8:00 AM and end after 3:30 PM. Classes meet for 12 weeks followed by a one week break.
* Due to the technological restrictions within the prison, evening
communication with Deerfield offices may be necessary.
* Occasional trips to campus in Deerfield may be required.
* Occasional evening and weekend events in support the program may be required.
