Job: Assistant Manager of Ticketing and Patron Services
Reports to:        Senior Manager of Ticketing and Patron Services
Status: Non-Exempt, Full Time, Regular
Works With: Ticketing and Patron Services and Marketing Department
Job Summary: This is an entry-level position in Arts Administration. The Assistant Manager of Ticketing and Patron Services is a member of the Ticketing & Patron Services Department and will perform the daily transactional and data entry functions of the Ticketing & Patron Services Department. The Assistant Manager of Ticketing and Patron Services will provide patron satisfaction through excellent customer service. They will strive to increase participation in Company events by using consistent, proven sales techniques in all patron interactions. They will also be the first point of contact with the public for Lyric Opera and are responsible for the phone, front door, reception, email, and mail systems.Accomplish the objectives of Lyric Opera of Kansas City and the Ticketing & Patron Services Department:

Ticketing and Patron Services Duties To increase revenue streams from and satisfaction of subscribers, single ticket buyers, donors, and education participants through the accurate maintenance of account records and positive promotion of company activities.Entry of transactions related to all ticketed events.Maintain the integrity of data entry standards and customer accounts.Maintain timeliness of data entry according to Company standards.Assist the Ticketing and Patron Services Department with maintaining consistent messaging related to Company events.Oversee data entry related to non-ticketed events.Keep a cash bank of $500 and reconcile periodically with the Finance Department.Act as box office and front-of-house liaison with the Kauffman Center staff at performances.Assist the Senior Manager in training all Ticketing & Patron Services new hires.Assist the Senior Manager in supervising all part-time Ticketing & Patron Services staff.Compile the Ticketing and Patron Services monthly work calendar. Assist the Marketing Department in list creation and management for direct mail, telemarketing, and email campaigns. Maintain Ticketing and Patron Services training documents or create new training documents for new processes. Enter all comp requests when they come in for the company.Enter requests for donation vouchers from outside organizations.  Main list puller for Single and Season marketing campaigns. Reception and Front Door DutiesWelcome visitors by greeting them in person or on the telephone; answering or referring to inquiries.Process incoming and outgoing mail as needed.Ensure the Marketing, Ticketing, and Patron Services department's materials are organized and the supply room is kept orderly and free of clutter.Manage front door systems.This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of this position. Required Competencies:Ability to collaborate with staff, professional colleagues, and supporters.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)Basic cash handling skills. Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role is performed sitting at a desk and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. While most work occurs with a long-term plan, the employee will be required to be flexible to changing priorities and additional projects that can require overtime. Must have the ability to manage short-term deadlines.
 
Physical Demands:  A portion of the work is sedentary, sitting at a desk, but filing and other duties are required. This will require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary. Must have the ability to lift at least 25 pounds. The ability to work with other Ticketing and Patron Services Representatives and other Lyric Opera staff. The ability to handle moderate noise in an open office environment.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Regular office hours are Monday through Friday,9 am to
5 pm. Work will require attendance at performances and other Company events after hours.
Required Education and Experience:One to two years of experience in sales and/or customer service.Bachelor's degree preferred. Ticketing database knowledge. Ability to learn new software quickly Job Type: Full Time
Salary Range: $30,000 - 49,999
