Assistant I - Underwriting

As an Assistant I - Underwriting, you will provide support to our team of underwriters in the processing and evaluation of insurance applications. You will be responsible for reviewing and verifying information, preparing reports, and communicating with clients and agents. Your attention to detail and ability to work efficiently will be crucial to the success of our underwriting operations.

Key Responsibilities: - Review and verify insurance applications for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare reports based on underwriting guidelines and company policies
- Communicate with clients and agents to gather additional information or clarify details
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all underwriting activities
- Assist in the preparation of risk assessments and recommendations
- Collaborate with underwriters to ensure a smooth and efficient underwriting process
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in underwriting guidelines
Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in underwriting or a similar role
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
- Knowledge of insurance terminology and underwriting principles preferred
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Must be able to pass a background check
