The Barstow School is seeking a full-time year round employee available to work from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM & 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Rotational + Seasonal).Job Overview: Assist the Director of Summer Programs and Extended Care with the day to day operations and management of the two programs year-round. The department maintains two Assistant Director positions that work closely together to coordinate various logistical aspects of the program in addition to providing direct student oversight during Extended Care hours.
Job Functions/Responsibilities - Daily Supervision of Early Childhood, Elementary and Middle School Extended Care (2:30-6:00)
- Management of Extended Care staff (scheduling and day to day oversight)
- Assist in the hiring process for Teaching Assistant (TA) applicants of both programs
- Assist in creating/sending parent communications
- Oversee supply purchasing for both programs
- Responsible for data entry of information for summer camp registration
- Work directly with Director to ensure accuracy of teacher scheduling
- Must be comfortable addressing and properly documenting any significant accidents or incidents that occur their oversight
- Must be comfortable speaking with parents regarding minor student incidents and issues (the Director will handle upper level issues)
- Monitor summer registration via email and phone by corresponding with parents
- Assist in the management of the summer school office in regard to its overall operations
- Provide support to teachers/TAs throughout the summer program in various areasJob Requirements/Preferences - Bachelor's Degree
- Previous experience in student oversight (daycare or classroom)
- Previous experience in staff management (preferred but not required)
- Must possess ability to work in Google GSuite (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, Forms, Drive)
- Must have the flexibility to work a rotating weekly schedule of 8:00a- 4:00p and 10:00a - 6:00p from August - May (Hours in June and July are 8:00a-4:00p)
