Aging Projects Inc is looking for a PSA 2 Area Manager to work at our Wichita location. Note: Position will remain open until filled. Role: The Area Manager is responsible for the Older Americans Act Title III C1 – congregate and C2 – home delivered programs in and around Wichita funded by the Central Plains Area Agency on Aging (CPAAA). In addition, they serve in a leadership role as part of the Executive Team, providing insight to the Executive Director to assist them in running Aging Projects, Inc. and specifically the operations of Harvey, Butler, and Sedgwick County, in the most efficient manner possible. The Area Manager sets the standard for company culture, inspiring those around them to be their best.
Major Duties and Responsibilities 1. Serve as the supervisor for managers of sites and provide appropriate training for all staff positions as assigned.
2. Accurately and timely complete all required documentation; submit all reports, orders, and other requested data by deadlines.
Update forms, reports, and orders as appropriate. Some items include: Monthly Meal Reports, Weekly Donations, Ordering for Catering and supplies, Company Annual Report, CPAAA application and summary report, Inventory Satisfaction Surveys, Volunteer Records 3. Serve as the primary contact and secondary decision maker for the Wichita Administrative Office.
4. Be trained and conduct UPR's assessments as assigned.
5. Assist with all company trainings or community awareness opportunities conducted by API for contract compliance, financial advancement, or program improvement.
6. Assist employees, vendors, clients, or customers by answering questions related to procedures and services.
7. Work with the Hutchinson administration team to post on social media and keep the company web site up to date and current.
Be a company expert on government-funded programs, and follow all API, Central Plaines Area Agency on Aging, and Kansas Department on Aging and Disability Services regulations. This includes: The KDADS Field Service Manual, The Older American Act - Title III, Kansas Department of Agriculture Food Licensing and Food Safety 8. Assist the Executive Director and HR with all aspects of hiring, training, supervision of staff, have strong working knowledge of company personnel policies and procedures and conduct performance reviews as assigned.
9. Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of Aging Projects, Inc. operations.
10. Maintain confidentiality of all information associated with the operation of Aging Projects, Inc, Meals on Wheels/Friendship Meals.
11. Identify opportunities for cost savings and/or fundraising activities and work to implement them.
12. Take the lead in identifying and organization of local communities desiring nutrition centers and, with the help of central office staff, assist in the planning process.
13. Generate creative solutions; Translates concepts and information into images; Uses feedback to modify designs; Applies design principles; Demonstrates attention to detail.
14. Manages difficult or emotional employee and customer situations; Responds promptly to customer and employee needs; Solicits customer feedback to improve service; Responds to requests for service and assistance; Meets commitments.
15. Must be able to synthesize complex or diverse information; collect and research data; uses intuition and experience to complement data; and design workflows and procedures.
16. Performs other job duties as assigned.
Expectations: Completes 95% of projects on schedule.
Strong organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal. Writes clearly and informatively; Edits work for spelling and grammar; Varies writing style to meet needs; Presents numerical data effectively; Able to read and interpret written information.
Must possess a valid Kansas Driver's License and an insured vehicle for periodic business use.
Must be bondable.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Assistant Area Manager
Site Managers (19 sites) and their associated staff
Catering Operations (currently contracted)
Knowledge and Skills: Experience: Three years working with the public, one year experience working with senior citizens. Two years supervisory experience preferred. Familiarity with federal and state funded programs. Perform record keeping. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Public health standards as they pertain to food service.
Education: Bachelor's degree in human services, Dietetics, Social Work, or equivalent. Additional education or experience preferred.
Physical/Environmental: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance, talk, or hear, and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. The job requires clear vision, distance vision, color and peripheral vision with depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. There is moderate noise in this working environment.
Technical Skills : Must have proficient skills in Microsoft Office, Gmail and be comfortable training supervisee in the use of these products.
