JOB SUMMARY

The Appraisal Reviewer Lead will assist in organizing, prioritizing, facilitating, and monitoring the operational flow of review, revision requests, reconsideration of values, and delivery of appraisal orders through the management system(s) in compliance with applicable policies and guidelines, investor requirements, and Federal and State regulations.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Appraisal Reviewer - General/Lead Functions:
Deliver completed appraisal reports in accordance with service level guidelines.
Perform administrative and technical reviews on external appraisals as required.
Respond to revision requests.
Respond to reconsideration of value requests.
Act as subject matter expert for inquiries from staff/management regarding valuation and review decisions.
Assist with coaching approved appraiser panel as needed and review appraiser score cards while building solid vendor relationships.
Assist with any potential AIR, USPAP or state agency appraisal violations.
Continue to learn about the real estate appraisal industry and stay up to date on industry trends and compliance.

Monitor queues and balance tasks within team to ensure quality service and due dates are met.

Train and assist reviewers on the use of the management system(s)
Lead Appraisal Reviewer team as an escalation point of contact.
Advise team on providing resolutions regarding branch and appraiser concerns.

LEVEL OF SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Supervisor gives specific instructions on all assignments. Work is reviewed for completeness and accuracy. Team member performs work that has "checks" built into the business process. The team member works on assignments of limited complexity and is closely managed.

Supervisor provides continuing or individual assignments by indicating generally what needs to be done, limitations, quality and quantity expectations, deadlines and priorities. Specific instructions are given for new or difficult assignments. Team member carries out recurring tasks through own initiative. Supervisor confirms work is accurate and in compliance with instructions and established procedures. The team member is directed in most aspects of the work, but gains exposure to some mildly complex tasks within the job function.

Supervisor makes assignments by defining objectives, priorities and deadlines, and assists the team member with unusual situations. The team member plans and carries out successive steps and resolves problems and deviations in accordance with instructions, policies and/or accepted practices. The team member contributes to moderately complex aspects of work. The team member's work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.

Supervisor sets overall objectives and resources available for work. The supervisor and team member work together to develop deadlines, projects and work to be done. The team member plans and carries out the assignment, resolves most conflicts, coordinates work with others and interprets policy if necessary. The Team member keeps the supervisor informed of progress, potentially controversial matters, or far-reaching implications. The team member contributes to complex aspects of work. The team member's work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.

Team member generally proceeds independently in accordance with general plans, policies and purposes of the department and/or organization. Results of work are considered technically authoritative and are normally accepted without significant change. This is typically selected for management level positions.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Years of Related Experience:

Minimum (5) years of valuation experience required.

Licenses/Certifications

Real Estate Appraiser with national registry and state licensing board.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with solid computer skills.
Analytical thinker and consultative mind to support both team members and managers in all areas of the business.
Goal-oriented, self-motivated with the capacity to meet and exceed assigned goals.
Willing to learn, industrious, determined, and assertive.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask to complete a wide variety of tasks.
Strong people skills with ability to interact with all internal teams and external customers.
Must be able to maintain sensitive and confidential information.
Diligence to ensure tasks are completed thoroughly and on time.
Working knowledge of appraisal review and GSE, HUD, USDA, and VA guidelines
Preferred experience with Fannie Mae's Collateral Underwriting Software
Experience with customer relations and possess strong phone skills and written communication with a positive personality.
Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new systems.
