The Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Violence solutions was launched on April 1, 2022, merging the Center for Gun Violence Prevention and Policy at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health with the Educational Fund to Stop Gun Violence, an independent 501c3 organization. This innovative new center combines the expertise of highly respected gun violence researchers with the skills of deeply experienced advocates to advancing policies to reduce gun violence.
The vision of the Center for Gun Violence Solutions is a just and healthy country free from all gun violence. The mission of the Center for Gun Violence Solutions is to:
Develop, advocate for, and defend evidence-informed solutions to reduce gun violence in all forms. Conduct and translate rigorous policy-driven research; and engage in educational opportunities that support gun violence solutions. The Center for Gun Violence Solutions' Associate Director of Development is seeking an Annual Giving Officer who will be responsible for executing the Center's individual annual giving program and strategy.

Reporting to the Center's Director of Development, this is a highly collaborative position, requiring close working relationships with development colleagues at the Center and fellow individual and annual giving colleagues at the Bloomberg School of Public Health and across the university.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities Develop creative strategies and serve as project manager for the Center's annual individual giving program: liaise with Center's Development Director and BSPH's Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) Office of Annual Giving. In conjunction with the Center's Director of Development create content for and manage a minimum of four appeal campaigns per year (combination of mail and email), manage the schedule and implementation for all CGVS appeals. Manage all technical aspects to execute appeals including mail shop formats and sending email appeals through Every Action email platform. Develop analysis tools to analyze annual giving results and track annual individual giving activities to determine effectiveness. Segment and identify individual donor groups in ALADIN database to track and monitor donor-group performance and activity. Discover and cultivate opportunities to collaborate with program colleagues to develop thematic appeals.
Produce reports for Center's Director of Development, Center Co-Directors and Advisory Board.
Contribute donor-relevant content to the Center's and BSPH's non-solicitation engagement communication vehicles, including but not limited to departmental and school wide e-newsletters, working closely with CGVS and BSPH communications team.
Coordinate on-campus and regional events, including assisting with invitation lists, briefing materials, managing event website, attending and helping during events as needed.
Manage discovery prospect pool of approximately 50 prospects in the $1K - $25K range for specific visit and engagement strategies.
Responsible for conducting a minimum of 25 visits (virtual or in-person) per year.
Recording all individual donor portfolio activity in JHAS database. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree. Three years related experience. Preferred Qualifications Ideal candidate will have the ability to thrive in an intellectually challenging, fast-paced, collegial environment. Political savvy, integrity, discretion and pragmatic consensus building skills required; mature judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information required. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills and a highly professional image with the ability to interact with faculty, staff, donors and volunteers at all levels required. Ability to organize and establish objectives and priorities in a complex organizational environment required. Regional travel potentially required. *This position requires someone with a strong commitment to and passion for the mission of the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Violence Solutions and the Bloomberg School of Public Health.
**Three years fundraising-related, individual donor solicitation and stewardship, annual appeal and direct mail, database segmentation, and event planning experience required. Experience writing a variety of annual giving solicitations preferred. Experience with marketing through various formats, mail email, social media, and text. Classified Title: Annual Giving Officer

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.
