May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager, Service Location Manager, or Shop Foreman.ResponsibilitiesPerforms complex diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipment and established Ag Management Solutions (AMS) productsParticipates in Service Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledgePerforms diagnosis and repair in the field as requiredMentors Service Technician Trainees and Service TechniciansMaintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive productsMaintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipmentMaintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashionFollows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignmentsCompletes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignmentsAccounts for all time and material used in performing assigned dutiesSkills & Qualifications5+ years of experience performing service repairsAbility to perform complex repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures on the machines of the Technician's specialtyExpert knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipmentExcellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposesAbility to use Service Advisor and basic computer functionsAbility to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedlyMaster Service Technician certification preferredHigh School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferredValid driver's license required; CDL (Commercial Drivers License) and fork lift license preferred
