Administrative Coordinator - Thoracic Head & Neck Medical Oncology JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES Maintenance and Management of Kurie Lab Program
-Coordinates Kurie Lab program objectives and progress to milestones generated by pre-doctoral students, post- doctoral fellows, and other junior research personnel.
-Point person for PI to coordinate, track lab objectives and milestones to provide cohesive overall laboratory plans and progress.
-Unites personnel to common project goals.
-Serves as primary contact for Kurie lab.
-Represents lab in department meetings.
-Provides oversight to ensure a well-functioning lab.
-Prepares budget and invoicing processing for all Kurie research laboratories studies.
-Kurie Laboratory recovery team member as part of ride out/recovery
for THNMO. Laboratory Compliance
-Record keeping and data maintenance of Kurie Lab research studies.
-Prepares, manages and tracks protocols placed and approved with IBC and IACUC, liaise with MTA and IRB office.
-Coordinates and sends outgoing material/samples to institutional, state, and/or federal agencies.
-Coordinates the laboratory supply and equipment ordering, as well as distribution, storage and inventory of laboratory supplies.
-Coordinates the maintenance of liquid nitrogen and freezers, performs annual inventory check for laboratories.
-Custodian of Laboratory departmental shared equipment.
-Oversight of Kurie Lab EH&S safety requirements and compliance with good laboratory practices.
-Prepares and ensures laboratory is compliant for annual EH&S laboratory inspection.
-Maintains compliance of hazardous chemical items and controlled substances. Tissue and Cell Line Development and Oversight for Kurie Lab
-Maintain all program stock cancer cell lines for cell culture including: growing, expanding, freezing, and utilizing sterile techniques.
-Serves as resource and Instruction Lead to provide training and up-to-date protocol information.
-Oversees lab member's animal, cell line, tissue experiments ensuring priority of studies through the Principal Investigator.
-Supervise lab members with various experimental techniques.
-Instructs, and demonstrates to new personnel and post-doc/students the proper performance of all animal standard operating procedures such as lung orthotopic injection and mouse intra-tracheal delivery.
-Carry out Mouse experiments with knowledge of safety and within appropriate institutional and regulatory guidelines.
-Performs mouse IV, IP, and SQ injections, sacrificing and necropsies, as well as processing tissues.
-Other duties as assigned

Education Required - High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience Required - Seven years of administrative or related experience. With preferred Associate's degree, five years of required experience and with preferred Bachelor's degree, three years of required experience.
